The Village Garden, Dunster TA24 6RY { directions and parking }

The Garden will be open at 3.30pm for guests not attending the Ceremony. There will be games and live music for you to enjoy while we wait for the afternoon tea party to begin, at around 4.30pm. This will include a delicious spread chock-full with wonderful homemade food. Vegetarians will be catered for, but unfortunately we can't cover all dietary requirements so please make provisions if you have any intolerances etc.

Dress code is smart suits and pretty frocks please. Ties and hats are optional!

Dunster's Village Garden - the Tithe Barn is adjacent to the main Village Garden. This large garden, along with the smaller flower garden, were formerly the kitchen gardens for Dunster Castle. After the Castle was given to the National Trust in the late 1970's, the gardens were no longer required for their original purpose. There was a possibility that they would be developed for residential purposes, but the villagers, including Susie's grandparents, raised 18,000 to buy them in 1980. They are now looked after by the volunteers of the Dunster Gardens' Village Trust.

Arrival

As we are not having a formal meal, you are more than welcome (encouraged!) to be at the Barn and Garden soon after the Ceremony finishes where you will be able to join in the celebrations right the way through to the dancing! We would ask that you arrive at 3.30pm.

Departure

The party will finish at around 11pm. The Barn is in the centre of a very sleepy medieval village and the residents have very good hearing! We have been asked by the venue to restrict our noise levels (including our music) and so please continue this respect of the local residents' sleep as you leave or as you wait for your taxis!
